What do you get when you mix psychology, communications design and marketing? You get CPRdesignco, a specialist in psychologically based communications!

In 2005, Cecil Phillips-Ritchey, principal consultant, initiated CPRdesignco LLC on a full time basis to offer a diverse set of services to the nonprofit sector. Now in 2010, CPRdesignco has extended its menu to provide full service integrated communications that adds public relations, media relations and social media to our current mix of strategic marketing, branding and graphic & web design services.

Cecil Phillips-Ritchey, principal, has over 30 years experience working in the public and private, nonprofit sectors. Her diverse background in psychology, management, marketing and graphic design provides a unique skill set for the development of marketing strategies and communications for nonprofit agencies and small businesses.

Social scientist CPRdesignco develops communication strategies based on the specific needs, behaviors and interests of target audiences. As a social behaviorist, Cecil uses research and social marketing to communicate with diverse audiences to achieve successful outcomes. Cecil has facilitated focus groups for over 250 different types of nonprofit service, and is well grounded in serving this unique sector.

Nonprofit Advocate As Assistant Director of the Connecticut Association of Residential Facilities (now the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits, CAN), Cecil was a strong advocate and administrative lobbyist for a trade association comprised of over 250 private agencies representing eight human service sectors, affiliated coalitions and associate members within the nonprofit sector. Cecil’s responsibilities included building consensus amongst diverse constituencies and developing targeted messaging and materials for communicating with governmental leaders, association members and the public.

Recogniton & Affiliations Cecil is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and a former member of the Connecticut Art Directors Club (CADC). Her work has been recognized by CADC and been awarded the American Graphic Design Award three times.

Education Cecil has earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Yale College, a Masters of Science in Management from the Hartford Graduate Center and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Visual Communications Design from the Hartford Art School. Her educational and professional experience provides the background for the development of strategic marketing communications developed with psychologically based visual messaging.
