Caitlin Thayer is the owner of Thayer Consulting—a company that helps organizations grow their online communications with social media. Caitlin has utilized and developed her social media savvy to bring non-profits and small businesses to the cutting edge of communications.

Social media has become one of the fastest and easiest ways to get your message out. We help create advocates for your organization who will carry your mission around the world! We believe that it is important for non-profits and small businesses to be a part of the social networking community.

Caitlin has been working with social media since 2003 and has been fortunate to work with a variety of groups and organizations to develop social media networks—the Connecticut Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Mark Twain House & Museum, Operation Fuel, The Sweetest Key - Hartford a cappella, HCS: HealthCare Search, Maureen Edwards Photography and the Connecticut Affiliate of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Caitlin works with an organization to find the best social media platforms that will provide the highest Return On Investment (ROI), and then teach your staff first-hand the methods and techniques to creative and informative posting. Every organization has a story to tell and social media is a pro-active way to find your supporters and get your story told.

In a short 5 months time, Caitlin grew a social community network of Facebook followers of the Susan G. Komen 2010 Connecticut Race for the Cure from under 200 to over 1000 with daily postings and followup.

At the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford, CT since May of 2007, Caitlin created and currently runs all of the museum's social media, including Facebook, Twitter, BlogSpot and YouTube. She has successfully grown the museum's Facebook and Twitter to have a combined following of more than 1400 people. Caitlin was featured as a presenter on the What Would Twain Tweet panel at The Mark Twain House & Museum, discussing social media and non-profits.

Caitlin attended Clark University in Worcester, MA and received a degree in American History. Caitlin is a member of the New England Museum Association, the American Association of Museums and Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs.
